He is trained in Advanced Cardiac Life Support as an instructor, Advanced Pediatric Life Support, Advanced Neo-Natal Life Support, as well as Advanced Trauma Life Support. He is also certified as a Medical Acupuncturist, having taken a nine-month course for physicians from the UCLA School of Medicine. He is currently licensed in both California and Washington states. Over the years, he has been affiliated with many different national and local medical societies. Most recently, he has been consulting from a medical perspective in the area of criminal law.

"As a busy practitioner, I was frustrated by the lack of time I was able to spend with my patients discussing a treatment plan for their specific problem or disease.  As a traditional practitioner, I also found myself unable to keep up to date on traditional medical literature and was unaware of alternative practices that could be very helpful.  In order to provide the best service to my patients, I became involved in medical literature searches. Soon I started HealthHorizons, my most comprehensive endeavor, where I hope to utilize all my training and experience combined with the vast resources available on the Internet."

**This site is dedicated to Merle McKowen, my friend who was my inspiration for this project to help us all. I miss you.
