We here at HealthHorizons.net believe that the entire person, ie. mind, body, emotions, and spiritual dimensions, should be addressed in health and sickness. We also believe that there are many approaches to healing, some of which have been around for thousands of years.

These approaches to healing are epitomized in the following five domains:

1. Biologically based systems such as Diet and Herbal Treatments (we are what we consume).
2. Manipulative therapies such as Massage and Osteopathy.
3. Energy therapies ie. Acupunture, or Reiki.
4. Mind-body therapies including Yoga and Meditation.
5. Parallel healthcare systems such as Ayurveda (made popular by Dr. Deepak Chopra), Traditional Chinese Medicine, Homeopathy, and Naturopathy.

Everyone knows that conventional medicine (ie. Western Allopathic) can NOT cure everyone, and is NOT without side effects and adverse reactions. We also are aware of the fact that our doctors and other health care professionals (ie. nurses, etc.) don't have enough time to talk to us. Care has been fragmented to specialists and sub-specialists without a unifying force towards individual needs and overall well-being.

We also believe, as is written in the Hippocratic Oath, that all persons/patients must first be protected from harm as much as possible. We believe all should expect and obtain health care that has a favorable risk/reward ratio compared to others available. We feel strongly that preventive practices are available and can offer some degree of protection against illness and disease. And lastly, we feel that all health care intervention of whatever source be based upon the expectation that a greater benefit will be achieved than that which could be expected with no treatment at all.

Written information is provided by the staff at HealthHorizons.net and overseen by Dr. Long. We can and will communicate by regular mail, secure (scrambled) email, fax, or telephonically. Turnaround time for information transfer will vary according to the modality selected and information provided.

5.  What medical services can you not provide at HealthHorizons.net?

Dr. Long and his staff cannot diagnose or treat medical conditions by phone, fax, or email. The information and discussion provided are NOT meant to substitute for a hands-on physical examination.

6.  How can I pay for the services rendered by HealthHorizons.net?

1. Submit your order via the Ordering page, and verification of your order will be e-mailed to you promptly. Send your check or money order to the address listed on the order form.
2. Fill out and print a copy of the Ordering page and send it with your check or money order to the address listed on the order page.
3. Sign on to RelayHealth, and visit my secure medical office page, and tell us by e-mail what you need. You can then pay by credit card through Healinx. Your information will be forwarded to you in the form requested, i.e. mail, e-mail, or by telephone (if possible).
4. Call our voicemail box at (253) 857-9001, and one of our staff will call you back to take your order personally, and/or arrange consultation with Dr. Long at your convenience.
